This camera is equipped with an approximately 8.0 million camera
effective pixel 1/1.8-inch Charge Coupled Device
(CCD). Also, with "DIGIC II", higher
resolution and high-speed processing were achieved and the startup time and
response time were shortened.
Same as PowerShot S70, this camera is equipped with 28 to 100 mm
(35 mm film equivalent focal length), f/2.8 - f/5.3, 3.6x optical zoom lens. By incorporating an
aspherical UA lens--with its ultra-high index of refraction--into the zoom lens
composition, high magnification rates with excellent image quality and a slimmer
body were achieved.
"Special Scene
Modes(*1)" to shoot an image with the most appropriate
settings for the scene and "My Colors" to
change image colors have been newly added.
This camera supports movie
shooting in powerful XGA (1024 x 768 pixels) 15 frames per second as well as
high-quality VGA (640 x 480 pixels) 30 frames per second. While shooting a
movie, AE (Automatic Exposure) and AWB (Automatic White Balance) functions.
Furthermore, you can use AE Lock, Exposure Shift and Digital Zoom (movie
setting: standard). Also, continuous movie recording up to 1 GB is
possible(*2).
This camera displays a histogram in
real-time (Shooting mode: P/Tv/Av/M) and grid lines
for easier photo composition.
This camera is equipped with a Print/Share
button. This button lets you easily print your images and download images
directly from the camera to a computer (Windows®/Mac OS X) by connecting the
camera directly to a direct print compatible printer(*3)
or connecting the camera to the computer. This camera complies with the
PictBridge(*4) industry standard.
This camera is equipped with a significantly larger 2.5 inch type
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) with wide viewing
angle. Multi Control Dial brings you to operate the
camera comfortably.
Transition in playback and in slide
shows has been newly added to this camera. Also, a function to create a new folder to store captured images
daily/weekly/monthly has been added.
SD memory card or MultiMediaCard is used
for this camera as a recording media. The dimensions
(excluding protrusions) of the main body are 104.0 x 57.0 x 38.8 mm (4.1 x 2.2 x
1.5 in.) and the weight is approx. 225 g (7.9 oz.).
Software for transferring your
pictures to a computer, organizing pictures, laying out pictures for printing
and editing still pictures and movies is included with the camera. This software
is available for both the Windows and Mac OS platforms(*5).
Also, as this camera is compatible with USB 2.0 Hi-Speed, high-speed image transfer with a
USB 2.0 Hi-Speed compatible computer is
